Frequently Asked Questions
What to know about your right fit, fees, and your first session
Yes. Individual therapy helps you understand yourself, explore patterns, and develop healthier ways of responding rather than reacting,—both in relationships and daily life.
Couples therapy can help if you feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnected from each other, or unsure how to move forward together. You don’t have to be in crisis to begin. If something doesn’t feel right in the relationship, that’s reason enough to start.
It depends on what you’re hoping to work on. Individual therapy focuses on your own patterns, emotions, and growth. Couples therapy focuses on the relationship dynamic between you and your partner. Sometimes both are helpful, and we can talk through what makes the most sense for you during your consultation.
We begin by talking about what’s bringing you in, exploring patterns, and clarifying your goals. From there, we’ll decide together what next steps feel most helpful.
It’s not uncommon for one partner to feel more hesitant. Individual therapy can still be a valuable starting point. Understanding your own patterns and responses can begin to shift the dynamic in your relationship, even if your partner isn’t in the room. If your partner becomes open to it over time, couples therapy can always be added.
Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions required by law, including risk of harm to yourself or others, and suspected child or elder abuse. In couples therapy, I ask that both partners agree not to contact me individually between sessions to share information the other partner isn’t aware of, as this can affect the trust and integrity of our work together.

Therapy is not about convincing anyone to stay or go. It’s about creating clarity, deepening understanding, and helping you move forward with greater confidence and care. Starting therapy does not require a commitment to a specific outcome.
The length of therapy depends on your goals and pace. Some people focus on a specific issue in the short term, while others choose to work longer to deepen understanding and connection.
